A total of 140 interstate segments in Kentucky were initially assessed. These segments were assessed in each direction of travel in an effort to identify unique issues that may be occurring in a given direction of travel. From the 140 overall interstate segments, the Top 70 interstate segments in terms of crashes per segment were ranked based on the number of crashes per mile, crash rate, and crash severity. The sums of these individual rankings were used to create an overall ranking of interstate segments. The results are included in the link below, showing the Top 20 High Crash Interstate Segments in Jefferson, Bullitt, and Oldham Counties.
