The crash data in Indiana’s statewide crash database was reported in such a way that makes it difficult to identify in which direction of travel the crashes on Indiana interstates occurred. Therefore, there were only 17 interstate segments in the Indiana portion of the KIPDA Region to be analyzed. These segments were ranked based on the number of crashes per mile, crash rate, and crash severity. The sums of these individual rankings were used to create an overall ranking of interstate segments. The results are included in the link below showing the High Crash Interstate Segments in Clark and Floyd Counties.
